NAACP's Ben Jealous releases convention app

BALTIMORE -- NAACP President Ben Jealous released a mobile application to help make the 102nd conference of the NAACP the most interactive ever.

"The app has something for everyone, whether you're attending the convention in Los Angeles or simply following along online," said the civil rights leader about the July 20-28 events.

"One quick download will bring the full schedule of events to the palm of your hand," he added.  "You'll also get photos and bios for speakers, videos from the convention, and easy one-click links to share your thoughts on Facebook and Twitter."

The app also provides Los Angeles-area maps, as well as a full directory of NAACP staff, board, and special contribution fund trustees.

"This App will help connect the NAACP community in a virtual forum for a convention that will be unlike any other," said Jealous.
