SAN FRANCISCO -- Everyone in the room stood in recognition of the extraordinary accomplishments of LeRoy King before the start of The King Behind King, Bridges, Chavez and Mandela at the San Francisco Labor Council.

Once the ReUNION: Education-Arts-Heritage documentary concluded, the audience extended him another standing ovation.

Although King had been attending the Labor Council since the 1940s every week, his fellow labor leaders learned far more about his accomplishments than even they knew about.

The King Behind King, Bridges, Chavez and Mandela launches a bold new advance in American television history -- the first network designed for the educational, cultural and historical enrichment of African-American youth.

For Bay Area viewers, ReUNION: Education-Arts-Heritage is available on KMTP-32 throughout the nine-county viewing area, on Direct TV and AT&T Uverse.   The King Behind King airs Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 9 p.m.
